…it just seems like i can’t get on track with my…

Monday Manifest!

Here it is Tuesday night and I’m barely motivated to pull together some thoughts.  But because I have a desire to continue to write with some regularity, I’m going to push out this post with some feigned sense of commitment!

  1. It is cold!  Colder than the deepest darkest corner of a walk-in freezer located in the northern-most section of the Antarctic, yes I exaggerate, but just a bit,
  2. Just ordered some 2009 McKade and Rogan calendars for family members from Shutterfly…by waiting until January, I saved 30% on 3 out of 4 of them AND FREE shipping…hmmm, I wonder how much more I could save by waiting until June…by the way, you can adjust the start date of the calendars…mine will start Feb. 1st rather than the old January standard,
  3. Mike just came and modeled some army green cargo pants for me, he thinks they make his ass look sexy, and I concur!,
  4. I am so thrilled the new season of 24 started….Keifer is HOT!,
  5. Yeah for American Idol too, however, if I had to choose a “reality-ish” type show to be stranded on a desert island with, I’d have to go with “So You Think You Can Dance”!!,
  6. Today I called the preschool where Rogan will start in the fall, it gave me pause!,
  7. I’d like to become a better blogger…I feel like I say/speak some pretty funny shit but then it doesn’t seem to translate over into the writing…hmmm, perhaps this is a goal for me…,
  8. Of course, I may think what I say is funny, others may not share the view,
  9. I continue to be blown away by reconnecting with people on Facebook,
  10. I’m cooking some Edamame, and I have every intention of sitting down with a big bowl and a beer while watching idiots “sing” their way into shame and embarassment!!! (American Idol starts tonight!)

‘Till we meet again!

Monday Manifest, One Day Late

  • So I’m a day late on my post,
  • but that pales in comparison to the lateness of my laundry schedule,
  • I just can’t seem to get back on top since we were gone for a week during the Christmas break.
  • In fact I should be folding and putting away not typing and kvetching about life!
  • McKade returned to school yesterday without too much difficulty,
  • and last night he started a four week round of Tae Kwon Do.
  • He seems to be enjoying it so far and said that he was excited to go back to class!
  • So it’s Tuesday and I am relieved to be back on the weekly schedule,
  • But I’m fretting because $$ is tight and I can hardly wait for payday,
  • The outpouring of cash over Christmas is catching up,
  • At least we managed to avoid major credit card purchases.
  • Tonight is BodyPump and I am especially excited to get back to working out on a regular basis!
  • I don’t have much to say today, so I’ll close and catch up with you tomorrow!!

Home Sweet Home

A breakdown of our traveling:
  • Basically, we were in and out of the car so much that  I considered it part of my exercise routine for the week,
  • But then I went and ate so much damn chocolate that all my ‘car squats’ became insignificant,
  • I very much enjoyed seeing family, but felt like my time to relax and visit was overshadowed by my desire to be on time-ish for the next visit,
  • Mike, McKade, Rogan, Mazie and I shared a bedroom for the week,
  • 10 adults, 4 children, and 2 dogs shared the house for a week,
  • I only packed one shirt for Rogan…my packing was interrupted by Candice and Greg who were semi-panicked regarding their ability to catch their connecting flight,
  • Luckily gas prices were down so all the driving was affordable,
  • Mike and I were able to grab some time alone, in the car, and enjoy a quick visit with an old high school friend Regan, who by the way has opened up a really cute shop in Shelbyville, KY…it’s called Through the Looking Glass,
  • Over the course of the last week or so, I had several mini thoughts about a third kid…at the moment, I’m really good with 2!!,
  • The New Year is almost upon us, and I’m looking forward to spending a child friendly evening with our friends Scott and Gina, and their three girls, Leah, Keely, and McKenna,
  • I have every intention of posting again soon, but I promise you nothing!!!
  • Until then enjoy some pictures from our trip:

Monday Manifest…Countdown to Christmas Edition

December 15, 2008 outspokenandunderpaid 2 comments
  1. 10 more days until Christmas, however we begin our travel this coming Saturday,
  2. We’ll be gone for one week, visiting Mike’s family in Kentucky and my family in Cincinnati,
  3. We’re not finished shopping yet, but strangely enough, we’re out of cash, how does that happen?,
  4. I’m really looking forward to spending some quality time with my sister and Greg (who used to be my brother-in-law but now he isn’t…that’s another blog),
  5. It’s really freaking cold here today: -5 with the wind chill!,
  6. Mike had to travel to the U.P. today and tomorrow, could they have picked a better time to send my hubbin to almost Canada?!?!?,
  7. From where I sit at the computer I can see my bird feeders, they are empty and I feel guilty for not having filled them in ages,
  8. I am reading 19 Minutes, so far it’s holding my attention quite well,
  9. I haven’t felt really motivated to blog lately, but at some point soon I’d like to research information about zoos and discuss whether they are a blessing or a curse,
  10. I cut my own hair last week…I literally took a pair of scissors and hacked into it, it turned out quite well!,
  11. Rogan and I are going to McKade’s class twice this week, once on Tuesday to help build a gingerbread house, YUM, and then on Friday for the Christmas party…I’m doing the game(s) for his class!!,
  12. Rogan’s ready for lunch, gotta go!!

Monday Manifest

  1. My kid, my oldest kid, offered to help clear the table tonight after dinner. Did you hear me? I said McKade offered to help clear the dinner dishes!! Without being asked! I know! Huge moment in our house! I seriously had tears in my eyes!
  2. We put up our Christmas decorations this past weekend! And I stayed out of Mike’s way while he did the tree, and that was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time!
  3. My meds seem to be working really well. I had almost no PMS symptoms and in general I feel like a happy me again! (Celexa is often used to combat PMS symptoms, not just symptoms of depression.)
  4. I had to go the doctor on Friday because of my asthma. It was so bad I ended up needing a breathing treatment. I haven’t had one of those in a very long time!) I’m on the upswing for sure now!!
  5. Rogan has woken up twice in a row without having soaked through his nighttime diaper! For a while there I thought I was going to have to wrap his lower half in a zip lock!
  6. Mu Mum called me today and I could just hear the smile on her face and in her heart! She is really excited about the holidays and the time we will be spending together! And I am too!
  7. My husband voluntarily rubbed my feet last night! And my feet stink! He wasn’t even angling for a b.j.!!
  8. He also prepped the coffee maker for the morning!! And still no request for a b.j.!! I know I know! He’s a good guy!
  9. I successfully taught a new Silver Sneakers class today. The timing is good and I love that I will be earning just a wee bit more money!
  10. Facebook is INSANE! I came upon an ex-ex-ex-ex girlfriend of my Dad’s, who is 20 years younger than him and we are now entering in to a cyber discussion of what she recalls from that time…almost 20 years ago!

My first attempt at creating a random list filled with thoughts that slide around inside my head as easily as melting butter on a window?!?!?!?
  1. Took this morning off from going to the gym in an effort to slow things down and de-stress a bit—it seems to be working.
  2. Now if I can only rid myself of this guilt for not working out!
  3. I’m officially back on an anti-depressant.
  4. Why would I share such personal information? Because I truly believe that being open and communicative about mental health issues is healthy, appropriate, cathartic, and it might just help someone else too.
  5. I am willing to answer questions about my struggles with mental health and the subsequent taking of medication.
  6. The boys and I visited with some great friends over the weekend. We left a sick husband home and made the 2 1/2 hour drive to Noblesville. I have a special connection to a friend I met in prenatal class when I was preggers with Mack and she was preggers with her first too.  We also both had boys the second time around as well!
  7. This list thing is fun.
  8. I watched an episode of 20/20 on Friday night that has disturbed me greatly. Check it out here if you are interested in knowing more. Please be advised, this story is very upsetting. The only reason I offer the link is my attempt at making sure that we remain vigilant about the safety of our children.
  9. We have begun another freaking home project. But only because we had water damage in the basement on the day we had rain similar to what Noah must have witnessed.
  10. Although I love this time of year, it seems to make me miss my family A LOT!!
